LIC’s Glitz & Glam, affectionately known as “Jewels,” is a rare purebred sorrel Clydesdale mare whose story is rooted in friendship, admiration, and gratitude. Standing an impressive 16.3 hands, Jewels is sired by Pleasant Valley Desmond and out of Southern Belle of HLF. Her pedigree, striking presence, and unmistakable individuality make her an exceptionally meaningful member of the Crown Cavalo herd.

Jewels was bred in Ohio by a very dear friend who raised and trained her from birth. Under that thoughtful guidance, Jewels began distinguishing herself early, earning champion ribbons as a yearling. When her breeder entrusted Crown Cavalo with her future, we understood that we were receiving far more than an accomplished mare. We were being trusted with a horse who had been carefully developed, deeply loved, and believed in from the very beginning.

Her sire, Pleasant Valley Desmond, was a stallion we admired for years—the kind of horse we once dreamed of having in our own barn. In Jewels, we see his unmistakable reflection. From her expression and carriage to her substance and commanding Clydesdale presence, she resembles him in all the very best ways. Welcoming her to Crown Cavalo felt like receiving a living connection to a horse who had inspired us long before our breeding program became what it is today.

Jewels’ sorrel coloring makes her particularly uncommon, but her mane is what makes her appearance truly unforgettable. It can transform from brilliant red to smoky gray, passing through seemingly every shade in between. We believe she exhibits a possible sooty-like color influence, giving her coat and mane remarkable depth and an ever-changing quality that can look entirely different from one season to the next.

She carries the history of a treasured friendship, the careful work of the breeder who raised her, and the unmistakable likeness of a stallion we admired from afar.
