Bradfield's Jade Warrior

Bradfield’s Jade Warrior, affectionately known as “Jade,” is a striking black tobiano Drum Horse filly selected to become an important part of the Crown Cavalo breeding program. With her impressive size, substantial build, bold markings, and unmistakable presence, Jade beautifully represents the traditional character, athletic potential, and thoughtful breeding we seek to preserve in the modern Drum Horse. Jade is sired by the remarkable BH Spectacular, affectionately known as “Toby” and celebrated as The Cinematic Stallion. With 22 performance titles and four End-of-Year Highpoint Awards, Toby has distinguished himself in barrel racing, trick riding, Western performance, and English disciplines. His career has also included appearances in films, music videos, equine exhibitions, and Heartbeat of a Drum Horse. Through her sire, Jade descends from the world-renowned Galway Warrior, one of the most recognizable and influential stallions in modern Drum Horse history. Jade’s resemblance to this celebrated ancestor was noticed from an early age, giving her not only a distinguished pedigree, but also the powerful type and commanding visual presence associated with this remarkable family. Jade’s maternal heritage is equally impressive. Her dam, Black Orchid Valika, was named Supreme Champion at the 2022 International Drum Horse Show, bringing proven show-ring quality, movement, conformation, and Drum Horse character to Jade’s maternal line. Valika is a Canadian-born, black tobiano F1 Drum Horse mare, registered with the International Drum Horse Association as D0530M. Foaled May 17, 2015, she represents a true 50/50 foundation cross of 50% Gypsy and 50% Shire. Valika is sired by North Fork Peso and out of the Shire mare Swiss Shire Maggie, giving Jade an especially valuable maternal foundation rooted in traditional Gypsy and Shire blood. As the daughter of both an accomplished performance stallion and a Supreme Champion mare, Jade carries excellence on both sides of her pedigree. She combines the charisma, versatility, and cinematic presence of BH Spectacular with the proven show quality and foundational Gypsy–Shire heritage of Black Orchid Valika. Before joining Crown Cavalo, Jade began gaining valuable experience through shows, public appearances, and movie meet-and-greets. She also appeared in Heartbeat of a Drum Horse and demonstrated impressive confidence and composure while meeting large groups of people. These early experiences helped establish a valuable foundation for a young horse with such tremendous future potential. Jade also arrived with a thoughtful start in her age-appropriate training. She had been introduced to lunging and saddling in preparation for ground driving and was accustomed to routine handling, clipping, bathing, and loading into a trailer. Her confidence, intelligence, movement, and natural presence make her an exciting prospect for continued development in the show ring and beyond. Jade’s carefully balanced breed composition is 40.625% Gypsy, 40.625% Shire, and 18.75% Clydesdale. This combination provides substantial traditional draft influence while preserving the feather, athletic movement, expressive markings, and people-oriented character desired in a quality Drum Horse. Her DNA and parentage have been verified, and she has tested negative for both PSSM1 and FIS. These documented results, combined with her champion heritage, valuable genetics, substantial size, and promising temperament, make Jade an especially exciting young mare for the future of the Crown Cavalo breeding program. At Crown Cavalo, Jade was selected for far more than her famous pedigree or dramatic coloring. She represents the complete vision behind our program: impressive size, traditional Drum Horse character, athletic potential, proven champion bloodlines, valuable genetic diversity, and the confidence to command attention wherever she goes. With cinematic bloodlines through her sire, Supreme Champion quality through her dam, and an exciting future entirely her own, Bradfield’s Jade Warrior is a young mare whose story is only beginning. We look forward to developing her carefully and watching her mature into a mare worthy of both the Bradfield and Crown Cavalo names. Featured Callout Sired by the decorated BH Spectacular and out of 2022 International Drum Horse Show Supreme Champion Black Orchid Valika, Jade combines cinematic presence, champion heritage, foundational Gypsy–Shire blood, and the promise of an exceptional future.
