“Ouro” means gold in Portuguese—a fitting tribute to his luminous buckskin tobiano coloring, but perhaps an even better description of his warm, people-loving nature.

Ouro has already begun distinguishing himself in the show ring, earning the title of 2026 IDHA Virtual Show Reserve Champion Stallion. This early recognition reflects the quality, presence, and unmistakable Drum Horse type he brings to the ring. Foaled May 21, 2025, Ouro is an IDHA-registered F2 Drum Horse colt expected to mature around 17 hands. Sired by Crown Cavalo Ritz Carlton and out of Horse Feathers Daphne, he represents a beautifully balanced combination of Gypsy, Shire, and Clydesdale blood. His striking color genetics—EEAaCrcrTtW20/n—make him immediately memorable, while his pedigree, temperament, and future potential give him far more to offer than color alone.

Ouro’s pedigree brings together distinguished horses and traditional bloodlines on every side. Through Ritz Carlton, he carries Love Biscuit and T.H. Ailbhe, with T.H. Ailbhe tracing to Dragonfire. Through Daphne’s sire, HLF’s Foggy Knight, Ouro carries the admired Tu-Shea Clydesdale line, adding substance and powerful draft-horse heritage to his pedigree.

One of the most distinctive aspects of Ouro’s pedigree comes through his dam’s maternal family. Daphne carries traditional Irish ancestry, including horses whose individual names were not fully recorded and whose origins trace back to Ireland. Rather than diminishing their importance, this history connects Ouro to the authentic roots of the Irish Cob and Gypsy Horse. Before the establishment of the formal Irish Cob studbook in 1998, pedigrees were commonly preserved and passed down orally from one generation to the next.
